Ravenna and Padova, Italy

"We are staying tonight and tomorrow night in Padova. Our room is nice and for once the shower is hot and has some pressure! We looked at several different Cathedrals and Basilica's today. The Mosaics were completely amazing! One in Ravenna was made around 400 A.D. That is around the time of Mormon, and it's still standing and in great condition! I can't imagine the work it took to piece those huge masterpieces together! Ravenna was a nice, quiet town so that was fun! We visited St. Anthony's Basilica in Padova and the Scrovegni Chapel. They were both wonderful! For the next two nights our hotel is in the Prostitute District in Padova so we have to stay in the hotel when we get here. Crazy!" Journal Entry, October 1, 2008
